Highway Department announces road maintenance projects beginning May 14

The Edgar County Highway Department has announced scheduled roadway maintenance projects on Vermilion Road (CH 1) from US 150 to Sulphur Springs Road and Clinton Road (County Highway 2) from One O’clock Road to Vermilion Road (County Highway 2). 

The maintenance will require multiple lane closures beginning on Wednesday, May 14 and will extend until mid-July. 

“During this time, centerlines and no-passing zones will not be marked and loose gravel may be encountered,” Joshua Knight of the Edgar County Highway Department explained. 

All scheduled work is weather-dependent and alternate routes will be encouraged.
