Hume F3 a success

HUME – The first of two big parties in Hume came off without a hitch Saturday, July 29.

Joannie Smith said organizers of the F3 Festival were pleased with attendance and how well everything went.

“Everybody commented on how the crowd was bigger and the crowd stayed around,” said Smith. “At one point, the Coon Holler Kids were playing music on the pavilion, kids were playing laser tag and other things were going on. It was almost like being at an Elizabethan fair.”

With 28 entries, the festival parade was one of the best in several years.

Hume’s next fun event is the Oct. 7 Roadkill Cookoff. This friendly competition pits area cooks to create the best dishes by grilling, smoking or barbecuing meats.

“We are hoping to have a scavenger hunt road rally,” said Smith.

She added more information about the Roadkill will be released as the event draws near.
