Paris Police Department

-July 29, at 7:45 a.m., Elizabeth J. Young, 48, 608 N. Main, was arrested at 11642 Illinois Highway 1 on an Edgar County warrant. Young was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending posting of bond.

-July 29, at 7:45 a.m., Marty A. Brown, 49, Dennison, was arrested at 11642 Illinois Highway 1 and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Brown was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending a court appearance.

-July 29, at 11:56 a.m., Jeremy J. Lumsdon, 29, Terre Haute, Ind., was arrested at 116 Forrest Avenue and charged with domestic battery. Lumsdon was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending posting of bond. 

-July 29, at 7:17 p.m., Dakota W. Seuffer, 22, 209 W. Dole St., was arrested at 332 North Main on an Edgar County warrant. Seuffer was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending the posting of bond.

-July 30, at 10:51 a.m., Mark E. Smith, 57, 114 E. Monroe, was arrested at 720 E. Court Street and charged with threatening a public official, disorderly conduct and aggravated battery. Smith was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending a court appearance. 

-July 31, at 2:29 a.m., James R. Campbell, 27, 206 E. Van Buren, was arrested at Court and Alexander on an Edgar County failure to appear warrant and also charged with possession of methamphetamine. Campbell was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending a court appearance. 

-July 31, at 9:10 p.m., Benjamin J. Scott, 41, Clinton, Ind., was stopped at Jasper and Bayard and charged with no valid registration and violation of classification – motorcycle. Scott was released on a notice to comply with a court appearance required.

-July 31, at 11:26 p.m., Danielle L. Sass, 31, 317 S. Monterey, was arrested at her residence and charged with disorderly conduct and use of intoxicating compounds. Sass was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending posting of bond. 

-Aug. 1, at 11:17 a.m., Christopher A. Kauffman, 45, 514 Ten Broeck, was stopped at Ten Broeck and Jasper and charged with driving while license suspended. Kauffman was released on a notice to appear in court.

-Aug. 1, at 5:03 p.m., Autumn M. Henry, 38, 215 W. Edgar, was stopped in the 600 block of East Jasper and charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Henry was released on a notice to appear in court.

-Aug. 1, at 10:55 p.m., Brittany N. Tresner, 28, no address provided, was arrested in the 900 block of South Central and charged with possession of hypodermic syringe, possession of drug equipment and possession of methamphetamine. Tresner was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending posting of bond. 

-Aug. 2, at 12:20 p.m., Kristine A. McClain, 28, 1106 S. Main St., was cited at her residence for city ordinance 93.34-specified/unspecified nuisance. McClain was released and given a city court date. 

-Aug. 2, at 12:42 p.m., Ronnie L. Johnson, 32, no address provided, was cited at his residence for city ordinance 93.34-specified/unspecified nuisance. Johnson was released and given a city court date.

-Aug. 2, at 1 p.m., Christopher J. Wicks, 36, 708 W. Madison, was cited at his residence for city ordinance 93.34-specified/unspecified nuisance. Wicks was released and given a city court date.

-Aug. 2, at 1:30 p.m., Jackie L. Kramer, 62, 607 Ten Broeck, was cited at her residence for city ordinance 93.34-specified/unspecified nuisance. Kramer was released and given a city court date.

-Aug. 2, at 5:25 p.m., Jonathan P. Cable, 31, no address provided, was cited at his residence for city ordinance 93.34-specified/unspecified nuisance. Cable was released and given a city court date.

-Aug. 2, at 7:15 p.m., a two-vehicle accident occurred at Cherry Point Street and Parrish Street. The first vehicle involved was a 1999 Ford driven by Eric J. Bright, 32, Paris. The second vehicle was a parked 2013 Chevrolet owned by Stephen W. Dulgar, 63, 708 Cherry Point Street. No citations were issued at the time of the accident. 

-Aug. 3, at 10:48 p.m., Vincent R. Hale, 31, 738 W. Benton, was cited at his residence for city ordinance 132.5-possession of cannabis. Hale was released on a notice to appear in city court. 

 

Paris Fire Department

-July 21, at 11:51 p.m., the department was dispatched to Central and Wood for a report of smoke in a dumpster. A small fire was found in the dumpster, and it was extinguished.

-July 23, at 12:06 a.m., the department was dispatched to 317 E. Madison for a vehicle that rear-ended a parked semi-truck. Firefighters assisted with one patient and stood by until the street was cleared.

-July 24, at 1:55 a.m., the department was dispatched to Simonton Windows for an activated alarm. On scene, firefighters located a bad pull station.

-July 24, at 2:56 a.m., the department was dispatched to Brookstone Estates for an activated alarm. On scene, firefighters located a faulty detector.

-July 24, at 5:51 p.m., the department was dispatched to 608 N. Main for a possible illegal burn. No problems were found.

-July 25, at 8:54 a.m., the department was dispatched to 307 W. Madison for a report of fire in a piece of heavy equipment. On scene, firefighters encountered heavy fire in the engine compartment of an excavator. The fire was extinguished.

-July 27, at 7:01 a.m., the department was dispatched to Grace Lutheran Daycare for an automatic alarm. On scene, firefighters located a faulty detector.

-July 27, at 3:53 p.m., the department was dispatched to 2015 S. Main for an automatic alarm. On scene, firefighters determined the alarm was triggered by a water flow leak.

-July 29, at 10:08 a.m., the department was dispatched to 510 Connelly for a possible structure fire. The fire was out upon arrival, and the incident remains under investigation.

-July 29, at 5:23 p.m., the department was dispatched to 301 Sixth St., Redmon, for a leaking propane tank.

-July 30, at 4:55 p.m., the department was dispatched to the East Lake Boat Ramp for a reported picnic table on fire. On scene, firefighters discovered a charcoal grill on the table ignited the wood surface. 

-July 31, at 9:51 p.m., the department was dispatched for a possible illegal burn on Tanner Street. Firefighters discovered a small fire at 607 Tanner and advised the resident of the city burn ordinance.

-Aug. 1, at 11:17 a.m., the department was dispatched for a two-vehicle accident at Ten Broeck and Jasper. Firefighters assisted with one patient.

-Aug. 1, at 6:43 p.m., the department was dispatched to a location on the Lower Terre Haute Road near Pumpkin Works for a down power line. Enerstar Power was contacted, and the Vermilion Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District also responded.

-Aug. 1, at 7:07 p.m., the department was dispatched to 2250th Street for a tree across the road near the church. The tree was removed, and the Vermilion Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District also responded.

-Aug. 2, at 12:46 p.m., the department was dispatched to 36 Highland Court for a reported smell of gas. On scene, firefighters traced the odor to a motorized bicycle in a storage compartment at a neighboring unit.

-Aug. 2, at 9:21 p.m., the department was dispatched to 447 E. Crawford for a report of a large amount of smoke in the area. Firefighters determined the cause was a recreational fire.
