Flora B. Shumaker, 86, of Paris, passed away at 12:40 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Twin Lakes Rehab & Health Care. She was a devoted homemaker and caregiver.
A graveside service is 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Paris Memorial Gardens and burial follows. Templeton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Shumaker was born Sept. 15, 1931, at Marshall. She married Ted R. Shumaker, Nov. 9, 1953, at Paris, and he preceded her in death April 17, 1971.
Survivors include seven children, Leona Warmouth of Brocton, Esther Lance of Paris, Patricia (Gary) Lawson of Paris, Jane (Bobby) Johnson of Vermilion, Gloria (Roy) Keasling of Terre Haute, Ind., David (Beth) Shumaker of Paris and Tammie (David) Foote of Mattoon; a sister, Beverly Ordiway of Lincoln, Neb.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Martha and Ben Tischer; an infant son, Chester A. Flanders Jr.; her loving companion of many years, Earl Lawson; four brothers; and three sisters.
Mrs. Shumaker was a member of Paris Church of Christ. She will be remembered as a caring, generous and dependable person who loved children and was kind to animals.
