Wanda Schiver

CASEY – Wanda Wolfe Comer Schiver, 84, of Patoka, and formerly of Casey, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Centralia Manor, Centralia. She was retired from the Casey School District as a cafeteria worker.

A funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Markwell Funeral Home, with the Revs. Marvin Oakley and David Rogers officiating. Burial follows in the Macedonia Cemetery, north of Casey. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schiver was born Aug. 29, 1932, at Casey, the daughter of the late Robert Paul Wolfe and Dorothy Irene Robinson Wolfe. She married Harold “John” Leonard Comer Feb. 27, 1949, and he passed away Nov. 22, 1970. She later married Franklin Eugene Schiver April 7, 1972, at Casey, and he passed away Oct. 4, 2008.

Survivors include two daughter, Norma (Joe) McNicol of Patoka and Donna Comer of Centralia; son, Randy (Carol) Comer of Kinmundy; sister, Rogene Wolfe of Casey; grandchildren, Ashlie (Ramon) Mitchell, Bruce (Jennifer) Waggoner and Bill (Jamie) Waggoner; and great-granddaughters, Bella and Mia Waggoner.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Leon Wolfe; and sister, Roberta Sandiford.

Mrs. Schiver was a member of the Patoka First Baptist Church, a former member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the Casey Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a member of the Patoka American Legion Auxiliary. She was a devoted mom, grandma and great-grandmother. She loved to watch her St. Louis Cardinals and was known for her delicious pies.
