James Frederick Bennett, 87 of Paris, passed away at 5:26 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at Horizon Health Paris Community Hospital. He was a retired grain and livestock farmer.

James Frederick Bennett, 87 of Paris, passed away at 5:26 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at Horizon Health Paris Community Hospital. He was a retired grain and livestock farmer.

Private burial is in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Templeton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Bennett was born Dec. 18, 1932, in Lyford, Ind., the son of the late C. Frederick and Serena Wise Bennett. He married Esba Leggett Feb. 10, 1955, in Dillon, S.C., and she preceded him in death Oct. 21, 2012.

Survivors include two children, Don (Mary) Bennett of Bowling Green, Ky., and Glenda Milam of Paris; a sister, Martha Lee Davis of Westcliffe, Colo., three grandchildren, April Cochran of Bowling Green, Ky., Corey (Sara) Phipps of Chrisman and Chris (Shelby) Phipps of Paris; and five great-grandchildren, Colby, Kailey and Addison Phipps, all of Chrisman, and Hudson and Sawyer Phipps of Paris.  

Mr. Bennett served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church and the former Clay’s Prairie United Methodist Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially fishing with them at his pond.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church.
