Patricia Ellen Hittle, 85, of Paris, passed away at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at her residence. She was retired from the former Parkway Furniture store and had previously worked for many years as a teller with Edgar County Bank & Trust.


At her request, a graveside memorial service will be scheduled upon the safe return of her grandson from military deployment. Templeton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hittle was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Paris, the daughter of the late W. M. Rhoads Sr. and Alma Lindsay Rhoads. She married John Lawrence Hittle April 9, 1955, in Paris, and he preceded her in death March 13, 2020.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeri Lynn (Brad) Bone of Monmouth; a brother, W. M. (Sue) Rhoads Jr. of Oswego; two grandchildren, MSGT Kyle Bone of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Lindsey (Jordan) Schultz of Monmouth; three great-grandchildren, Liam Bone and Levi and Ben Schultz; and her beloved dog, Buddy.

She was preceded in death by a brother, George Rhoads; a sister, Audrey Harris; and an infant brother.

Mrs. Hittle was a 1953 graduate of Paris High School. She was an active and devoted member of First Christian Church of Paris where she served in numerous capacities. She also enjoyed being active in the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed music, especially Elvis Presley and classic country. Most of all, she will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Edgar County Humane Association or to First Christian Church of Paris.
