A graveside service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Franklin Cemetery, Chrisman. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Brazelton was born Feb. 28, 1928, in Brocton, the son of the late Grace and Mike Brazelton. He married his high school sweetheart, Joan Crum of Brocton on June 1, 1947, at the Brocton Christian Church.

He is survived by their three children, Rosemary Northrup of Savoy, Dan (Jane) Brazelton of Ohio and Ivan (Jane) Brazelton of Chrisman; six grandchildren located in Minnesota, Ohio and Illinois; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Charles (Jan) Brazelton of Florida; and his home care giver and good friend for more than eight years, Cindy Adams.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years; and two brothers, Elmer and Everett.

Mr. Brazleton attended a one-room schoolhouse east of Brocton and graduated from Brocton High School. He and his wife were very active in their church. He is now back home with his wife keeping watch over the family.

He was a big Illini fan and enjoyed basketball and football the most. He loved playing cards and loved winning even more. His loved ones miss him a lot but remember his smiles, good humor and the happy days.

Memorial donations may be made to First Church of Christ-Food Bank.
