PARIS—The Paris Cooperative High School wrestling team found success on the mat last week, downing Mt. Carmel 46-33 in a home dual meet before taking on the first-ever LIC Dual Conference Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 18.
Paris fell 24-48 and 23-59 to Robinson and Lawrenceville, respectively, in the opening duals of the tournament. Down but not out, the Tigers found their footing in the following duals, edging out Mt. Carmel once more, 47-36, before winning a 42- 42 tie against Olney (Richland County) on criteria.
Paris’ efforts netted a third-place finish in the LIC. Christian Perez and Joshua Lamour finished the day unbeaten to win their respective classes and earn LIC All-Conference honors.
