Paris voters have the opportunity to hear from mayoral and city council candidates during a Meet the Candidates event at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, in the lunchroom at Memorial School. The evening is sponsored by The Prairie Press.
“We believe it is important for voters to hear directly from the city candidates, and we are happy to provide this opportunity,” said Prairie Press publisher Nancy Zeman. “We hope everyone takes advantage of the opportunity.”
Mayoral candidates Bob Sinclair and incumbent Craig Smith as well as city council candidates Jacob DuCharme, Tom Dagley and incumbents Paul Ruff, Harry Hughes, Jerry Branson and Doug Hasler will field questions from both the newspaper staff and those submitted by local residents.
Each candidate will have the opportunity to present a two-minute introduction.
All candidates will draw for order of the evening and will sit in this order for the event. The candidate answering each primary question has one minute and 30 seconds to respond. The other candidates will have 30 seconds if they wish to comment. At the conclusion of the event, all candidates can make a two-minute closing statement.
Residents may email questions in advance to nzeman@prairiepress.net. Cards will be available at the forum for people to submit written questions.
