MARSHALL — Paul Dean Blockinger, 85, of Marshall, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at the Paris Health and Rehab Center, Paris. He was a retired farmer.

A public graveside service is 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Marshall Cemetery, with the Rev. Judy Williams officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Clark County Post #90 of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #5975. Pearce Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Blockinger was born on the Blockinger family farm in Darwin Township, the son of the late William Austin and Fairy Lichtenberger Blockinger.

He is survived by his sister, Evelyn (Tom) Dunn of Paris; and seven nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his older sister, Rosamond (Herbert) Osman.

Mr. Blockinger never married and lived his entire life on the farm, except for two years of peacetime military service, mostly in Germany, in the Army. He attended the Washington one-room school, next door to his home, before graduating from Marshall High School in 1953.

Memorial donations may be made to the Marshall Public Library.
