Paul Gray Colter, 89, of Paris, passed away at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at Paris Healthcare Center. He bought and sold grain for Farnham Grain, Englum Grain and Cargill, Inc.

Due to COVID-19, services are private and restricted to immediate family only. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Colter was born on Oct. 10, 1931, in Lafayette, Tenn., the son of the late Elmer Lee and Mamie L. Parker Colter. He married Dorothy A. Trine Oct. 23, 1954, in Shawneetown, and she survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Shirley (Robert) Stoltz of Paris; his grandchildren, Linda (Joel) Sherer of Paris, Dale Colter of Paris, Katherine (Cody) Vaughn of Paris, Brian (Lauren) Stoltz of Charleston and Lisa (Steve) Winters of Tolono; his siblings, Luther (Paula Williams) Colter of Paris and Fred Colter of Savoy; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Colter; his daughter-in-law, Julia Williams Colter; and his siblings: Dewey Colter, Randall Colter, Odell Colter, Agnes Jarrett and Carol Moser.

Mr. Colter attended Paris Nazarene Church and was a member of Horace Baptist Church in Edgar County. He was also involved in the Edgar County Farm Bureau.
