What’s your name? Your grade? Where do you attend school?

Madi Slaven, 8th grade, Crestwood School.



What is(are) your favorite subject(s)? What draws you to that subject?

Social Studies I like to learn about things that happened in the past.

 

What extracurricular activities are you involved in (clubs, sports, volunteer efforts)? Why?

Volleyball, Cheer, Track and Field, NJHS, Student Council, Chorus. I enjoy being in a lot of extracurricular activities and being involved in the school.

 

What is your dream job?

My dream job is to be a Dermatologist because I have always been very interested in skin and hair care.

 

What is your favorite snack food?

My favorite snack is Goldfish because they are a tasty snack.

 

Dream vacation spot?

I would love to visit Greece because I see so many amazing pictures, and it looks absolutely beautiful.

 

What is a piece of media (book, movie, TV show, video game) you think everyone should experience?

I think “Tangled” is a great movie that everyone should watch at least once in their life. It is a great Disney movie and has an amazing storyline.

 

What is your favorite memory from this school year so far?

My favorite memory is going to state with my cheer team.

 

Who is a teacher, staff member, or coach who has made a positive impact on you? How did they do it?

Ms. Heath is a very positive and kind teacher, she makes learning fun and is able  to help us understand social studies in entertaining ways.

 

What is your advice to younger students?

Stay in school and always try your best.

 

What does your family look like? Do you have any siblings?

I live with my mom and dad, and I have one sister who is in college.

 

Do you have any pets? What is your favorite type of pet?

I have two different types of pets, I have a cat and two ducks.

 

If you can accomplish anything in your life, what would it be?

I want to be successful and have a fun and loving family.

 

What’s your favorite restaurant?

My favorite restaurant is San Marcos because I go there with my friends often.

 

If you could go to lunch with anyone, from any part of history, who would it be and why?

It would be Marilyn Monroe; she was a big actress and model in the 1950’s as well as an absolute icon.

 

What are your goals for 2024?

I want to go to state for volleyball.

 

What do you think is the biggest problem facing the world? Why?

I think the biggest problem is self-image; there are so many people struggling with self-image, and it can affect more than just themselves.

 

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

To not give up when things get hard - just handle hard better.
