The return of the annual Paris Community Nurse Association Christmas Food Baskets program has been announced for the 2025 holiday season.
Packing of the food baskets at Templeton Funeral Home will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, and delivery of the baskets from will begin at 8 a.m. on Dec. 23.
The tradition has been practiced in Paris for more than 100 years under the careful direction of the association and its many partners and has fed dozens of family each holiday season.
Recipient names for the food baskets will begin being accepted on Dec. 1, according to the association’s board, who announced the delivery dates on social media earlier this week.
Information on registering as a family in need of a basket will be released at a later date.
“The need for assistance this holiday season is greater than ever,” organizers said in a Facebook post.
They encouraged community members to contribute through monetary donations, noting that the amount of funds raised directly impact how many families can be helped.
Donations can be mailed to Mr. Mike Morris, 309 South Main Street, Apt. #301, in Paris.
Additional information on the program and its needs are available by contacting the association’s chairman, Scott Barrett, at 217-465-8458 or by viewing and following the group’s Facebook page “Paris Community Nurse Association Christmas Food Baskets.”
