Saturday evening’s annual Rec Center auction on Feb. 28 was a resounding success, drawing an enthusiastic crowd and showcasing the deep generosity of the community.

“The evening was incredible in every way possible,” said Erin Hutchison, Rec Center director. “From the delicious food and speedy service to the theme, attire, and absolutely beautiful decorations, everything came together perfectly.”

Hutchison noted that the energy in the room was especially evident during the live auction, where guests were highly engaged and eager to participate.

“The crowd was playful, engaged and the live auction had some of the most enthusiastic energy we’ve ever experienced,” she said. “The generosity shown was truly overwhelming.”

In the days following the event, Rec Center staff and volunteers are working behind the scenes to calculate totals, sort details and organize the many components that make an event of this scale possible.

“We’ll be busy wrapping up the logistics,” Hutchison said. “Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll also be sharing photos and making sure we properly thank and recognize our donors, sponsors, participants, committee members, volunteers, staff and board.”

According to Hutchison, the auction once again highlighted the strong philanthropic spirit that defines the community and its commitment to the Rec Center’s mission.

“This community never ceases to amaze me with its collective love, generosity and commitment to keeping the Rec Center open, accessible, and thriving for everyone—now and for generations to come,” she said.

Hutchison expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the organization, emphasizing how meaningful the support continues to be.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you,” she said. “We are humbled, we are grateful and we are so very blessed.”
