With a heart overflowing with gratitude and love for my county, I introduce to you our 2025 Miss Edgar County contestants! Although I am so sad that my time as your Queen has come to an end, I couldn’t be more excited for the next special young lady to begin the adventure of a lifetime. I warmly invite everyone to our fair queen pageant this Sunday, July 20!”

Your 2024 Miss Edgar County Fair Queen,

Aubrey Lawson

Contestant #1: Kennedy Brown

Kennedy is the 17-year-old daughter of Scott Brown and Patty Reed of Brocton. She is a 2025 graduate of Shiloh High School and will be attending Lake Land College in the fall, with plans to transfer to SIUE. Kennedy will be majoring in Nursing.

“I think this pageant is important because you get to show people that you don't have to be perfect. You just have to be yourself and be a genuine person that people know they can count on. I would want to be Queen, because I love my community, and I love getting to know everyone here.”

Contestant #2: Abby Sanders

Abby is the 18-year-old daughter of Nick and Haley Sanders of Paris. She is a 2025 graduate of Paris High School and will be attending ISU in Bloomington in the fall. Abby will be majoring in Secondary Education with a focus on History.

“I think the queen is very important, because she can inspire little girls. That would be my favorite reason to be queen. You get to inspire so many people, and no matter what you're going through, or who you are, you can be important to the community and lead your community.”

Contestant #3: Carlee Longest

Carlee is the 18-year-old daughter of Nolan and Lindsay Longest of Paris. She is a 2025 graduate of Paris High School and will be attending the University of Alabama in the fall. Carlee will be majoring in Nursing, specializing in Pediatrics.

“Pageantry itself is important because it teaches people how to be confident and comfortable in their own skin, and how to rise above the standard. I think a lot of good role models do it. I've really worked for this, and I love this county and everybody in it. I love the sense of community we all have.”

Contestant #4: Chloe Martin

Chloe is the 21-year-old daughter of Thad & Mandy Martin. She is a 2022 graduate of Paris High School and currently attends the University of Mississippi. Chloe will graduate with a degree in Biochemistry.

“I want to give back to the community that has supported me and given me a platform to be able to build on and grow. Pageantry, to me, means being a part of something bigger than yourself. You are learning how to speak more confidently and be able to represent yourself. And then the Queen represents the fair as a whole.”

Contestant #5: Sophie Henderson

Sophie is the 18-year-old daughter of Jason and Alison Henderson of Paris. She is a 2025 graduate of Paris High School and will be attending SIUE in the fall. Sophie will be majoring in Business Administration.

“I believe pageantry is important for the youth. It shows them how to be confident in themselves and be confident enough to get up on stage and look however they look. There are different varieties of women out there. It shows them that no matter what you look like, no matter how you feel, you should get up there and be a queen.”

Contestant #6: Sammy Milam

Sammy is the 19-year-old daughter of Chris and Candi Milam of Paris. She is a 2024 graduate of Paris High School and currently attends Danville Area Community College. Sammy will graduate with a degree in Elementary Education.

“I believe I should be queen because I've had many leadership experiences in my lifetime, and I can make an impact on Edgar County by making connections with the community and being a role model to younger kids. The Queen is important to the fair because she does so much for Edgar County.

Contestant #7: Briana Reese

Briana is the 19-year-old daughter of Matt and Jennifer Reese of Hume. She is a 2024 graduate of Shiloh High School and currently attends SIUC. Briana will graduate with a degree in Political Science and Agriculture Business.

“I care so deeply about the community, and being able to give back to a community that gave me so much and opened up so many doors for me would just be something that I would cherish and be grateful for. Pageants have given me confidence, helped me with my communication skills and helped me grow a lot as a person.”
