Edgar County Highway Department announces road closure

Posted

PARIS—The Edgar County Highway Department has announced a temporary road closure on Springfield Road (County Highway 14) to accommodate upcoming drainage improvement work.

Beginning Monday, April 13, Springfield Road will be closed to all through traffic in the affected area. The project is weather-dependent and is expected to last up to three weeks.

Staggered barricades will be placed near McMillian Street and approximately one-half mile west near the Police Shooting Range, allowing access for local traffic only. A full roadway closure will be in place just east of JC Wood LLC (John Wood Trucking).

During the closure period, access to the Transfer Station (Ingrum Waste) and Wood Trucking must be made from the west via Illinois Route 133.

Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and use caution when traveling in the area. The Edgar County Highway Department appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as these necessary improvements are completed.
