Fatal crash near Edgar County Courthouse claims life of Paris woman

PARIS—A 67-year-old Paris woman has died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash that occurred Monday afternoon near the Edgar County Courthouse.

The crash happened at approximately 2:31 p.m. on Nov. 17, 2025, at the intersection of West Wood Street and Central Avenue in Paris. According to information released by the Paris Police Department, the incident involved a 2024 International truck driven by Dawson T. Watson of Paris. Damage to the vehicle was reported, and no additional details were available at the time of the initial response.

Champaign County Coroner Laurie Brauer stated Wednesday that the pedestrian injured in the crash, identified as Teresa Bradley, was transported from the scene to Carle Hospital in Urbana. Bradley was pronounced dead at 2:24 a.m. on Nov. 18.

An autopsy has been scheduled to assist in determining the full circumstances surrounding Bradley’s death.

Both the Champaign County Coroner’s Office and the Paris Police Department are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
