The Paris-Union 95 school district announced they are in search of a new board member on Friday, May 30, following the resignation of former board president Kevin Knoepfel.
No reason for Knoepfel’s resignation was provided.
According to District Superintendent Mary Morgan Ryan, individuals interested in applying to fill the vacancy can submit a résumé to the District Office, located at 300 S. Eads Ave., Paris, IL 61944, or via email at mmorganryan@paris95schools.org.
The deadline to submit a résumé is 3 p.m. on Friday, June 13.
The current board of education will interview selected applicants at a special board meeting on Monday, June 16 and the person appointed to fill the vacancy will serve until the next regular school board election in 2027.
Applicants for the board position must be a United States citizen, be 18 years of age or older, be a resident of the State of Illinois and the district for one year immediately preceding appointment, be a registered voter and cannot be a child sex offender as defined under the criminal code.
